Goal I: Utilize non-fiction text to gather information about a country. Students will learn to locate the main idea and details while taking notes in order to accurately portray facts and information on a group wiki. AZ Reading Standard S3C1-01: Restate the main idea (explicit or implicit) and supporting details in expository text. ISTE NETS: Standard : 1. Creativity and Innovation- Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology. Create original works as a means of personal or group expression.

Goal II: Appropriately use organizational features to organize group wiki and gather information about country. Students will take material learned while researching and use organizational features to navigate their wiki. AZ Reading Standard S3C1-05: Locate specific information by using organizational features (e.g., table of contents, headings, captions, bold print, italics, glossaries, indices, key/guide words, topic sentences, concluding sentences) of expository text (Connected to Research Strand in Writing). ITSE NETS: Standard : 2. Communication and Collaboration- Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others. Interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts or others employing a variety of digital environments and media.

Goal III: Determine appropriate references and resources to gather information about a country and use correct citations. AZ Reading Standard S3C1-06: Locate appropriate print and electronic reference sources (e.g., encyclopedia, atlas, almanac, dictionary, thesaurus, periodical, CD-ROM, website) for a specific purpose (Connected to Research Strand in Writing). ISTE NETS: Standard : 3. Research and Information Fluency- Students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information. Locate, organize, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and ethically use information from a variety of sources and media.
